42 v8 Crab Condenser
Need some help here Guys.
After having some real pain with a duff condenser that I don't want again, what are the best Condensers now available? I have read posts on the forum till I went dizzy. I read Bubba's piece on condensers and was wondering where these condensers he was referring to. https://www.daymotorsports.com/shop-...bly/TAY-912100 Being in the UK it seems I can only get crap parts . Thanks Swampy . |

Re: 42 v8 Crab Condenser
We buy them from C&G. Order 1GA-12300, $11.95. 800/266-0470. The condenser was changed to 42-48 from the earlier type, and were changed for trucks in 1947. We like them from C&G because the terminal is attached better than others.

Re: 42 v8 Crab Condenser
There are several suppliers of the scintilla/vertex magnetos but they would require modification for fit. They are expensive since they are hand made but there are also several types. A person needs the 0.3 micro farad type for the early ford/mallory type distributors with OEM coils. If it has a can type coil then any 0.23 micro farad condenser that can be easily adapted will work.
NAPA auto parts here in the US has Echlin products and the closest they have is the FA54. The IH200 condenser is also one that has been adapted. |
