Model A truck with a model T frame?
I have a friend who told me that he has the above. I don't doubt him as he knows so much more in the automotive world than I. He says that instead of wasting parts they were incorporated into the model a. Is this something known in the model a world and if so how rare? I will take photos if he will allow it.

Re: Model A truck with a model T frame?
I dont know how they could. Isnt the model t frame parallel and the model a tapered? Not to mention the whole frame rail height and motor mount issues...
That said in the aa world you can fit a model tt bed to an aa. They also virtually shared the same worm drive in the early aa.

I find that hard to believe, ferinstance, the A frame is 115&5/8"" long compared to the T's frame length of 102&1/4".

Re: Model A truck with a model T frame?
Ford would not have done that. Its very different. Think about warrantee issues later on.

Re: Model A truck with a model T frame?
The first poster says TRUCK so I would assume he means AA on TT frame. But as they both the worm drives?

Re: Model A truck with a model T frame?
Maybe he means just the bed of the pickup?? The bed on a Model A PICKUP TRUCK was the same as the bed used on the ('25-'27) Model T...at least that's my understanding of it.

That picture is a good example of why the stake pockets were back that far on the T.Any posts you might put in would have to clear the roof.

Re: Model A truck with a model T frame?
That's a great photo. Is the truck an actual dealer conversion, or was it done later?

Re: Model A truck with a model T frame?
In 1925 Ford dealers started offering a separate optional pickup bed to mount onto a runabout car body (turtle deck removed).
In 1926 and 1927 the T pickups were factory built. So technically 1925 was the first year Ford offered a pickup, but 1926 was the first year the factory built one. Good to know for a bar bet
