Default Help with top iron Identification

Hello fordbarn,

I am going to try and add some photos of some model a top bows.

If you guys might be able to id them I would really appreciate it.

And also if they look complete or what they might be missing?

and if they are roadster or roadster pu top bows and possibly what year they fit?

thank you =)

poweredbylincoln ................
Those look like my '29 roadster irons. 1928 was the same.

The roadster pickup top bows did not fold (except for the new ones being made by LeBaron Bonney).

Yes, they look like 28/29 Roadster bows as Mike stated. They look the same as mine.

If the fore/aft measurement of the front bow socket is 22" then it's 1928 through early 1929. If it measures 23" then it's mid-late 1929. The measurement is taken from the center of the hinge, straight forward as if it were mounted on the car.

Thank you guys for replying to me with all of the information. I greatly appreciate it =)

So I take them as being 28/29 top bows, depending on the measurements given by marco

and that they are roadster car, NOT rpu?

Do they look complete to you fellows?

and do you know if they possibly would work on a 30/31?

Thank you guys again

As noted, Open Cab tops did not fold. '30-31 Roadster tops didn't have the scissor type folding mechanism. They were also different dimensionally so it would take some serious modifications to make the earlier top bows fit and look appropriate on a '30-31 Roadster.
