What are you doing with your A this winter?
So what are you doing this winter with your A? Ex. maintenance items, rebuilding, or parked waiting for an "A" day. Some photos would be awesome. Fun to hear!

This winter's project was to rebuild the brakes, utilizing Randy Gross. Just completed the job and have a whopping 3 miles on them.

Installing new front and rear springs. Using Roadster 7 leaf rear spring to soften up ride in my 30CCPU. Also finally going to install that set of Stipe shocks I bought a couple years ago.

I will be cranking and rolling into town (9 miles) for the weekly ride. Did the routine check of tire pressure, oil level, water and vermin escaping the cold weather. If the Good Lord's willing and the creeks don't rise, I'll have a pleasant 1/2 hour trip.

Mine are stored for the winter . I go out to my storage areas and look at them from time to time I keep the batteries charged except for the ones with dead 6 volt batteries . I've got the parts for a 12 volt upgrade on two of them but will probably wait for spring .

My 2 1930 Fords are sitting in my garage waiting for spring. Its too cold and snowy to drive them now. I don't have heaters in either one of them .

The pickup and the phaeton are parked in storage until the weather warms.
My most recent purchase, '31 S/W Town Sedan, is being outfitted for comfortable touring with a clam-shell teardrop camper in tow. Body is being painted and the chassis is almost ready to go. The trailer needs to be finished...but the '31 S/W is getting priority. Good Day! Last edited by Dave in MN; 02-07-2018 at 05:13 PM. |

Re: What are you doing with your A this winter?
Replacing timing and crank gear along with pulley. Glad I decided to do this as when I went to remove the crank bearing I realized the U-bolts that was holding the axle in place were to short and the nuts were on with only a few treads with no lock washers not on far enough for a cotter key.

Re: What are you doing with your A this winter?
I'm putting new valves in my sport coupe, and continuing the overhaul on my coupe engine. As I get older the work gets more difficult every week, but I'll keep at it till it's done.
