'48 Super Deluxe Convertible trunk problem
For the life of me I can't figure out how to correct the hair trigger my trunk latch is on...it either won't catch at all or if it does, breathing heavy will pop it off.
There is no apparent damage to either the handle latch or the strike plate. There is practically no flexibility in how you set it up, so what am I doing wrong? Thanks george

Re: '48 Super Deluxe Convertible trunk problem
I had the same problem on my 48 Merc Coupe. I shimmed the striker plate raising it up about 1/8 inch. The trunk latch works fine.

Re: '48 Super Deluxe Convertible trunk problem
Thanks again, used a couple of flat washers and that solved the problem. I appreciate you sharing your experience.
Best
