My 31 roadster had brown paint under the layers of aftermarket paint....it looked like Moleskin brown to me....so that is what I repainted the car... I see there is a Ford letter than states that Deluxe Roadsters could be painted any color combination in 1931.

Joel, I think the Service Letter you are referring to was maybe the June 5th letter from the Indy Branch that stated this alternate color practice was only for "COMMERCIAL CONCERNS FOR COMMERCIAL USE". Was your vehicle somehow a fleet vehicle?

My '30 Deluxe Roadster is this same brown color. Does anyone know if this is a correct color? If so, what would the correct trim color and wheel color be?

BTW-I haven't purchased my restoration standards yet...soon.

The roadster color on dlx models is called stone brown. Manila brown is on station wagons only. The colors look similar.

Stone brown is a light brown color and I have seen it several times, but my paint under the fuel tank was definatly a much darker brown....almost a UPS truck brown...I cut windows out of my color chips so I could exactally see the clolors together and it definatly was Moleskin brown...no doubt in my mind.
