Default 1937 Driver Window

When trying to lower the driver’s window pane in my ’37 Fordor I heard a loud thump in the door. When trying to crank the window the pane got jammed at angle. It was possible to raise and lower it a little but not possible to get it out of this angled position. When I removed the window and door handles and the door panel I found this. It is 14 3/16” long and has a felt channel.

Can anyone tell me how it is attached?

Thanks,
Robert
