Default Ford model nomenclature

Once again I have been told my 1934 Ford 3 window is a "Model B".
I insist that it is a 1934 Ford V8 coupe NOT a "Model B".
Did Henry make the "Model B" more than one year (1932)?

I also have read that the 1933 Fords were "Model 40's" and the 1934 Fords were "Model 40A's?

What is the truth? ( I really want to win this "discussion"). (As my Christmas present don't ya know?)

The Model B refers to the 4 cylinder engine, while the model 18 refers to the V8 engine. All Ford passenger cars were disignated one or the other from 1932 to 1934, as both engines were available during those model years.

Model 40 refers to the basic body style, covering both 1933 and 1934. The EFV8CA has defined the two further than Ford originaly had, to identify the year models for insertion in the Roster. Ford had the same designation 40A, but used it only to identify parts updates for 1934, rather than the entire model year designation as the Club has done.
