Default '40 Ford Trunk Cardboard Question

We are finishing our 1940 Ford and bought an upholstery kit from LeBaron Bonney, which had new black trunk cardboard. My trim shop installer (Jan Roll of New Philadelphia) just called and asked if the cardboard that is in the rear of the trunk is attached to the back of the back seat, or attached from inside the trunk?

Could use some help on this.

Thanks, Fritz

Be certain the cardboard has a pebble grain finish. The smooth stuff is incorrect.

You can get a roll of material embossed with the correct grain pattern. This is to be glued on to your cardboard panels. Looks good when you are done. I got mine from Roy Nacewicz several years ago.

This just came in from LeBaron Bonney - for my 1940 Ford Convertible. They sure are helpful at LeBaron Bonney (thanks Doug)
