Hi all,
I have been working on A's since the mid seventies and I still find things that puzzle me.
I looked at a 30 Sport Coupe yesterday not a show car but a restored driver. My question is it says it's a 30 but has 31 front fenders and splash aprons. Is it possible that it was built like this or did the person restoring it just put these on? This owner does not know anything about the restoration.

So it also has 31 running boards and aprons.?
What makes you think it’s a 30? Dash, grill shell, title?
I’ve seen more carryover of parts than push back. I.e. I’d expect a 31 titled car to have more 30 parts than vice-versa.
Just my thinking…I’d say restored with mix matched parts.

Yes Dash, grill shell are 30. And yes there is usually more carryover parts that's why I was puzzled about this one.

Beginning in September 1930, a one-piece, full length running board apron was introduced, which would be used with the later 31-style front fenders.
