54 Ford mirror

I helped a friend pick up a 54 glass top the other day in a box of parts were a pair of outside rear view mirrors they look factory but the mirror portion (glass) is shiny copper anybody know the story on these the car came from the US has power seats and windows?

Power windows and seats were options on 54 Fords.

I have heard that outside mirrors were dealer installed so what you have may be aftermarket.
