Default 34 3window windows. Help Please.

Having problems with a 34 3window that's windows are not working properly. Car has had a vintique glass channel kit installed, has one original regulator, one aftermarket regulator, one aftermarket metal window channel and one metal window channel that supposedly was original to car. Aftermarket metal channel has been made to match the "original". However, neither of the metal channels measure the length (I've found here on the Barn) of 26 11/16". Both are 25" and don't have the 3/4" off the front, upper glass channel has been cut flush with lower roller channel. How critical is it they be 26 11/16" long ?
Thanks in advance.

Looking at a picture of the 40-722170-B window channel missing 3/4 " on either end is not a big deal. There is nothing in this area that is important. You would mount the channel under the glass as if the 3/4" was still there, this should put the roller in the proper position for the regulator. The channel in the middle of the photo below.

Hey Kurt , The old 5w says hi to you guys .

The fore-aft placement of the channel is important like Terry said . The length is not unless way too long . NOS ones are sometimes that way and you trim them to size needed . Running the window up and down making sure the vent position is right and marking the glass -channel position should cure it for you .

BTW the local glass guy here told me to just use layers of duct tape instead of the setting tape . It really works well and you can creep up on the tightness thing by simply adding another layer . Leave it a tic loose when trial fitting the channel to the glass . Use black tape and trim the excess when done and you won't be able to tell it is duct tape anyway .

Thanks Terry, I have the windows moving up and down, back and forward like they should on the regulator ear and channel roller stud. Problem I'm having is glass is hanging up on lower (felt) channels when going down and lower outside edge of door window opening when going up.
I mocked the lower (felt) channels upward so that upper mounting clips would hang out above door channels and that helped, but things are still catching and not smooth. Wanted to make sure the proper length of the metal glass channels didn't somehow guide the windows though the door channels that the lower (felt) channels mount inside of.

Hello David and thanks,
I almost gave you a call but figured I be hearing from you on this thread. The inside panels on these doors have been cut up and re-welded back together, regulator mounting holes are different one door from the other, the channels in the door are all tweaked and re-welded in. There's a lot going on I think.

The problem probably is in the metal channels in the door not lining up properly . That explains the catching on the lip bit . They need to be straight and the reg holes part is important also . That part is the same as a 2d so a pattern should be easy to get .
