Your local MARC/MAFCA Club yearly dues...
I have been wondering about what other MARC/MAFCA local Model A/AA clubs charge their members for yearly dues.
The Walla Walla Sweet A's (MAFCA) charges $15.00 per year. How about you? What are your yearly dues? Thanks. Pluck |

Pluck, our club, Cedar Creek MAFC, is the same: $15/year. We raise a little extra money by raffling off a door prize at each club meeting, but for the kind of things our club likes to do, $15 seems to be a good number.

Hi Pluck, long time since we chatted. Our local dues are $20. and have been the same since the club was founded in 2000. Best regards, Jim Langley...

Re: Your local MARC/MAFCA Club yearly dues...
Jacksonville Model As, $10 per year plus the MARC national dues, all payable to the local club who then renews national MARC membership for all. easy way to insure that all members keep up their MARC membership.
national MAFCA membership is mandatory for 5 board of directors members and recommended but optional for remaining membership. I have tried unsuccessfully each year since helping start the Jax club to reduce that $10 to $5

Re: Your local MARC/MAFCA Club yearly dues...
I changed the annual dues in my former club from $20 to $10 per year plus MARC dues and kept it there for over 15 years. The $10 more than covered the printing and mailing of our newsletter. My new club has dues of $10 per year plus MARC dues. I agree with ChrisinWNC that local club dues probably shouldn't be more than $5, especially if the club emails their newsletter to the members.

Re: Your local MARC/MAFCA Club yearly dues...
Might be a good time to ask the treasurer for a detailed list of expenses. At that rate I sure would. Until things get straightened out maybe a distribution of the complete transaction record emailed out to those that have emails. The treasurer should be keeping his records in something like excel and sending out a copy would be easy. Does the club have the habit of donating to good causes (I prefer to decide where my money is donated)? Do you have to pay for the place your club meets, it might be time to look for a new meeting place? As mentioned by others, the newsletter is a major expense unless it is emailed.

The International Victoria Association dues are $10 a year and have been so for about the last 20 years. There is a membership of approaching 300, with 25 being foreign residents. The Victoria Association is a special interest group of both MARC and MAFCA. The newsletter (four per year) is mailed out as hard copies. The annual dues covers the cost of printing and mailing. The Victoria Association is also the sponsor of the Youth Scholarship Program and pays the administrative costs. Anyone can be a member, owning a Victoria 190 is not a requirement.

Unique situation in Alaska. Alaskan A's (MAFCA affiliate) is free. We are also attached to an AACA local chapter (AAMA - Antique Auto Mushers of Alaska) and their dues are $25

Re: Your local MARC/MAFCA Club yearly dues...
Beaver Chapter dues are $10 per year, plus $1 for a spouse membership if they want to participate in raffle drawings. This is some kind of IRS rule for our tax status. People who have been members for over twenty years consecutively are eligible for free lifetime membership.
Because we are a MAFCA chapter, members are required to join MAFCA. This gives our club the insurance benefits that the National provides, plus we get a great magazine. Duffer, this may also explain why your club asks you to join the National club.

Re: Your local MARC/MAFCA Club yearly dues...
Yearly dues has been $20.00 for last 12 years for an award winning newsletter via email. Records were kept last year & the cost for copying & mailing a hard copy was $24.75. Hard copy for 2013 was raised to $25.00 to cover actual cost. By the way our newsletter editor was given the Newsletter of Excellence Award for 2012 from MAFCA.

Ours is $30.00 a year. This gets you 9 full color newsletters a year. Refreshments and meals at club events, monies to MAFFI, discount on the Holiday party and other small items. We have a treasury report in each issue of the newsletter.

The dues to MARC are for the magazine and insurance when on club events.
