Model A gas guage !
How many model A owners carry a gas ‘gage’ ?
What wood would this FORD gage be made of ?? It looks like black walnut to me. The stick/gage refers to SEVERAL different shape model A tanks. Did not know there were so many shapes ? Anyway, handy item to have… if your float is no longer …floating , like mine ! Last edited by hardtimes; 07-07-2021 at 05:55 PM. Reason: Zzzzzz |

Re: Model A gas guage !
Hey H.T.,
Make your own stick. I would use the stick to see how much is the tank and mark it. Add 5 gallons and mark it. The difference between the two is approximately 1/2 a tank. From that you can make marks to show 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and approximately full. If you have an 11 gallon tank, add 5 1/2 gallons to be more exact. David Serrano |

I used a piece 1" by 18" by 1/8" stick of aluminum and scribed each measurement on it, painted it black, wiped the paint off while wet and left the black paint in the scribed lines and numbers imprinted in the aluminum. Looks good and works perfect if needed.
