Meet Miss Alida ! (1930 Canadian Tudor)
Hello fellow Oogers, well I thought I'd post an update since its been a long while,starting with a picture of this sweet little Canadian Tudor I found a couple years ago, she's still looking pretty good for 90 years old, IMHO! I call her Miss Alida since thats where she came from ( a museum in Alida Saskatchewan). It took me two years to get everything working to the point of passing a safety exam a few weeks ago, hurray! Now I can legally take her on the road for some shake down cruises, fun stuff!
Those with very long memories may recall I was working on another 30 Tudor ( I love Tudors!) years ago,that ones still on the go too but still not done even after 17 + years ... but it is getting pretty close ( just glass upholstery and a bit of chrome plating to go). Alas a low budget has plagued me from the start so thats why its dragged on so, I went so slow I see Lebaron Bonney went bankrupt so that may throw a wrench into things too I'll have to figure that out. Anyways I thought I'd give an update , I hope to try posting a bit more regularly here or maybe Ahooga site which I find easier to use or maybe I'll get my dormant You Tube going where I recorded one little video https://youtu.be/seh6v8_tvbQ already without too much trouble, thats kinda fun too hope I am allowed to post a link ? Thanks Kev. |

Kev: Is that original paint on your Tudor? Looks to be a very straight and rust free car. Welcome back to Ford Barn!

Re: Meet Miss Alida ! (1930 Canadian Tudor)
hi Mike , yes it is but its the CDN shade and has a white pinstripe not red like USA cars had.And faded massively of course I love it and will leave it just as is . I'll be doing basic tuning all fall no doubt playing with the carb and testing all my coils and cutouts etc ( IE fun fun fun!) I had forgotten how many waves and smiles you get driving these old cars I should never have went 30 years without one but at least I made it thx Kev

[QUOTE=ahoogakev;1920302]Hello fellow Oogers,
I went so slow I see Lebaron Bonney went bankrupt so that may throw a wrench into things too I'll have to figure that out. This is a good place to go now that Lebaron Bonney is shut down. Reports of quality and willingness to to help are good. Lead times can be very long since they are now getting a lions share of Lebarons business, some times a lot of months. https://www.classtiqueupholstery.com/ |
