Default My Speedster. It's Done!!!! (mostly)

As some of you may know, back in mid January i started building a boat tail speedster. Long story short, its pretty much done as of this past friday when i picked it up from the upholstery shop. Here is the basic run down of how i made it:

-Stock 28/29 front cowl section and gas tank that has been molded in, and the gas neck removed.
-The subframe was 1X2 Steel Tubing
-The skeleton was made from 1/2 electrical conduit since it is easily bent, but a pain to weld. But it was very strong once it was all welded together as a unit.
-The back was made from two 1946/47 ford super deluxe hoods, one turned upside down.
-The rest of the sheet metal was just 24 gauge paint grip. If i were to do it over again, i would have chosen thicker metal. 24 gauge proved to be tricky to weld to without blowing holes, but after a handful of holes you learn how to weld on it. Plus you have to tack the 24 gauge to the electrical conduit, which was just as hard to weld to.
-the frame is a right hand drive frame that my boss had in the back that he allowed me to use, but which i still owe him money on
-As far as the driveline is concerned, its all stock for the most part. no high speed gears, no overdrive, and the motor is a stock babbit motor that i put in there just to get the car drivable for now. Ive already started collecting era speed equipment, for a hot inserted motor once i get caught back up financially from this car.
-Ive been switching between a single barrel holley and a weber carb, but i have an fs distributor in the car.
-Both the frame and body were painted with Urethan Enamel from sherwin williams, the color on it now is Vermillion Red, the first paint job it was marshal red, but i didnt like the color.
-Interior is Black vinyl, rolled and tucked.

I built this car in 6 months while going to school and working, but after I got it done the first time for the Texas Tour the past June, i came back from the trip and took it al back apart and have pretty much re-done everything again. I repainted the car (twice), repainted motor and tranny, redid exhaust, and wired it completely differently. You live and learn, and always do it differently the second time. This was a fun project, but i am glad it is finally coming to an end. I got burned out on it for a while, as i pretty much did most of the work in about 3 weeks trying to get the car ready for texas tour. (usually about 18-21 hour days for 3 weeks strait) I think i put the body on the chassis the weekend before the tour, and i didnt even drive the car until we were at the tour. i had to finish it in the parking lot of the hotel. But that is part of the fun for me anyways. I Didnt use any tools, that most dont already have in their garage. Just the basic hand tools, and a miller mig welder for all the welding. I'm going to try to post pictures, we'll see how that works out. It never seems to want to work with my computer.

Also, I built the body at my work. And once we had the body pretty well put together i took the chassis home to build the chassis at my house. So i could do the body during the day, and the chassis at night. I cant thank my boss David Anderton enough for helping me throughout the whole process. I probably could have done it without him, but it would have never turned out nearly as nice as it did with him helping me. He also helped furnish/lend me parts while building this. I thought i knew how to build it, but his knowledge surpassed mine greatly. I dont think very many people would give up their time, parts, shop space and money (working days) to help their employees on a personal project. I'm still in the process of trying to pay him back for what i owe, but i dont think ill ever be able to repay him for the knowledge he passed along during the build.

If you are trying to upload check your file size. The upload window will show the limits.

Your pictures might be too big to upload.
Try this:

Open your picture for editing. I use MicrosoftOffice Picture Manager.
Click on "Edit Pictures"
Click on "Resize"
In the Predefined width x height box select "Web - Large"

Click “ok”

Then "Save As" in a different file for posting. If you just save it your original picture will be changed so be careful of that. Once made smaller you can’t go back bigger.

well im waiting for them to finish uploading to photo bucket, of course i accidentally clicked on a video instead of a picture so the upload process is taking forever, and i cant get it to cancel that single video upload.
