Hi Nick
That looks like a dashboard to me? Trailer body?

Is that for a single-wheel trailer, --or for a single axle trailer? look at the mouldings around where a fender would be.

One thing you need to watch out for is the load capacity on those single-wheel trailers. That little 8" tire is generally only rated for about 400 lbs which the framework will take up about 100 pounds in itself.

I researched this at length several years back. A I'm at work right now but there is a company in New Jersey that makes the axle etc. They list the appropriate part numbers from Northern Tool including tire and wheel . You might try and google double hitch company. It was very affordable and a weekend or two with the welder and you're all set. OK here you go.........double hitch company.

I remember my uncle having one of these trailers and if memory serves me he did not like it, said that one wheel would get to wobbling and create one heck of a shake.

I have one if anybody is interested including the very hard to get hitches that connect to the bumper irons. Email me for pictures and price. [email protected].

The only downside is that they are a bitch to get hitched if you don't have two people (nearly impossible) and they're hard to walk because the wheel has a mind of it's own.

This one was at the NCRG Roundup this year. The owner said that her husband built it when their kids were younger and they needed more luggage room. She said it had been sitting for quit a while. They dusted it off and brought it to share with everyone. The stickers on it are tourist stickers from all over the western states.

I had two Heilite single wheel tent trailers a few years ago.One was dated 1953,with a serial number of 16.The other was dated 1954 with a serial number up around 200.One still had good canvas and was in use before I bought it,the buyer pulls it with a VW bus.He said it is shown in the gallery on the single wheel site. They're a novelty, but I really never saw much use for the single wheel setup. You can roll a light two wheel trailer by hand, but the single wheel trailer has to be rassled around everywhere.I got mine from a fellow that pulled them with a 36 HP VW,back when the VW was new in the late 50's.

I tow one. Learned early about straddling road kill. My swivel used friction discs and if you get a wobble just tighten the nut a little. Mine has a pin to lock the swivel for moving it while unhooked. No problem backing up as there is with a short two wheeler. I sold two at Hershey a couple years ago.
