Anyone know the outside dia. of Model A cylinder sleeve? What bore does a block need to be taken to for install of a new sleeve?
Thanks, Steve |

Re: Model A Cylinder Sleeve
It depends on the wall thickness of the sleeve. There are 2 common thicknesses, 3/32 and 1/8 inch. For the 3/32 type this works out to 4 1/16, the actual size that the block is bored will be .002 smaller than the sleeve that goes in that hole, if you are putting in more than one, mike each one as there is some variation in diameters.

You can't take for granted what is posted on the box as there is a variation of sleeve sizes from different manufacturers. On average the 3 /32 " sleeve size is 4.063 and the bore should be .003" according to Melling cylinder sleeves for proper fit. You have to check top and bottom of sleeve and then again at 90 degrees to last measurements to make sure sleeve is right size. As they do vary.! |
