Has anyone tried the plain steel cowl band from macs? hows the fit and finish?

I bought a stainless steel one. I think it was made for a monster truck. Way too big, threw it in the garage. Would need major modifications to fit.

There is a big Model A parts seller on Ebay that sells cowl bands and I questioned them if they had a cowl on hand and test fitted it prior to offering it for sale and they replied "no" I did not buy.

why buy one that does not fit when there is plenty originals out there. just find an original stainless one and sand it down fill the dings and paint it, only you will know it is not steel. it will fit good and will not rust.
