Howell's has them but that would be the last place I would buy it from, maybe
one of the other vendors can get them.

Has anyone purchased one from Howells? Are the back panels curved or just flat sheet metal?

Here is the thing with Howells, based on all the experiences with them on the barn it appears they do not want to deal directly with the customer. They prove this by poor or non existent customer service.

As Howells is the only manufacturer of some of the sheet metal parts, we have no choice but to use the product. Buy the metal from a regular Model A vendor they almost always have better service then Howells (Look up Mac's to see how the barn feels about them).

Use their parts, just don't deal with the directly.

George, first off, welcome to Fordbarn.

Second, as mentioned above, Howells does have a poor reputation however if you have the skills and abilities to work with sheetmetal, you can take their panel and finish it to make a very suitable panel. At minimum you will need a wheeling machine (English Wheel) to correctly contour the panel. You will also need a shrinker & stretcher (-or some way of shrinking and stretching the flanges). I am going to estimate it would take a professional another 12-15 hours to finish out that panel. In all likelihood, Howell knows this amount of time makes selling the panel cost prohibitive. That is why they sell their panels on a price point with the understanding they are a starting point.

many thanks for all the replies, I will take all the advice I can get. I had a bit of trouble with getting parts from Macs but I guess I can chock that up to their moving recently from New York to fla. I must say that the best advice and service as far as sheet metal is concerned came from Mike at Mikes affordable A's in GA.

If you don't mind me asking, why did you choose Mac's over another vendor? Was it their pricing, their catalog, or something else?? No right or wrong answer, ...just curious.
