O.K. In fairness to the local Chamber of Commerce I have to say that an apparent reversal was made and my Town Sedan was declared the first place winner over the Shay roadster. Fifty dollar prize!! I already have an accessory in mind to spend it on.

Why no wonder you won, that's alot prettier than any lousy Shay I've ever seen.

Thumbs up Re: My previous Fourth Parade post

Just curious, Bob: Did the Shay guy give it up, or was it the judges' decision? Either way, congrats - you deserved it.

I talked to the lady at the chamber. I didn't whine but just very gently mentioned that a Shay is a circa 1980 replica on a Pinto chassis. Must have made a difference.
By the way, Newburgh is a beautiful part of New York. Visited an old AF buddy who grew up there.

I bet that was an eye-opener for her! Thanks for the kind words (I was USAF too) - it's changed a lot since I was a kid though

The stars are in alignment once more.

The Shay owner never should have accepted the award.
