Default Ratchet Type Seat Adjuster

During production in 1931, the seat adjuster mechanism was changed from an Acme screw type to a more complex ratchet type adjuster. The pictures that follow came from several Model "A" sites. The photos show ratchet seat adjusters in a Coupe, a Cabriolet, a Victoria and a Fordor. I am not certain the ratchet seat adjuster was is authentic for "A" and "AA" Trucks.

I’m glad you did that. I am needing to build this all from scratch on my AA. I saved it.

Bob, on the 45B Coupe, the type seat frame (metal or wood base) is what dictated what type of adjusting mechanism it had.

Brent, the ratchet type adjuster in the Coupes have wood seat frames and seat springs that are different from those using the earlier design Acme screw adjuster, so we are in agreement. In the 190A Victoria, the seats attached to the floor with rails instead of hinge rods.
