Default Changing the steering wheel in a 31 Tudor

I am changing the steering wheel in my Tudor. Any tips tricks or advice before I start? I think I need to drop the column but not sure how much or if I need a special puller.

Remove the tank clamp and the two bolts mounting the steering to the frame. Hopefully this will give you enough drop to remove the light switch rod. You might need a special puller for the steering wheel, as some are stuck very tight. DO NOT hammer on the threads.

I've looked in my catalogs and the puller looks to straight forward and simple. I'd like to make my own. Anyone know the dimensions I'll need for a 31 Tudor?

I am also wanting to change the Steering Wheel on my '31 Coupe. As both the Coupe and the Tudor are closed cars, would there be any difference in the process between the Tudor and a Coupe ?

As the Coupe has less room to manuvuer than a Tudor, will the smaller, constricted space of a Coupe create a problem that would not be an issue with the more spacious interior of the Tudor ?

I'd bet on the coupe you need to completely remove the column, but only lower it on the Tudor.

Tom's right, as usual. You have to remove the column from a coupe, unless you have a roll down back window.

Or you can remove the fixed window.
