1935 Fordor B-Pillar
i answered an ad today for a 35 Fordor. This is the picture that was sent. it is a basket case, which doesn't scare me, but I noticed no B-pillar.
Were they removable, or would that have been cut out? |

I beleive they were removable. I may still have a set left, but would have to check out at the farm. I know I still have a set of rear doors if needed. Rod

The pillars were not designed to be removed. Here is an image showing the pillar in place.

Re: 1935 Fordor B-Pillar
The pillars are replaceable but not easly because you need to jig the body before removal and install otherwise the doors wont line up correctally and welding is required at the top and rivets on the bottom sil plate. B pillars are set at the factory and can be pulled in place but then again a Jig is necessary or some form of template as to assure the correct alignment. No one makes these B pillars for closed cars as I know of just for the roadsters and open cars which only go half way anyways. This is an expensive repair if you are left to have someone else to do the job

Re: 1935 Fordor B-Pillar
On a positive note, based on what's visible in your picture, the rest of the body looks good otherwise and also looks like it could have its original paint. If all the parts are in those baskets, and if the price is right, this could be a good deal for you. Some of us here have '35-'36 Fordor sedans, so we could possibly help with some closeup pictures of the B pillar attachment at top and bottom.

Here are a few pictures from my 1935 Fordor Humpback. Let me know if you need another angle. Bob
BTW, Is there a chassis with the body? |
