Does anyone reproduce/sell a replacement screen wire "filter" for the 35-36 Ford crankcase ventilator air scoop? Seems like I have seen 'em in the past, but then my memory ain't what it used to be. Well, a lot of things fall into that catagory. lol

Lawson, I made one using screen wire (nylon I think). I measured the height and diameter and made a few rolls. I put a couple of dabs of glue on the bottom of the inside of the breather scoop and placed the roll of wire there. It looked nice when finished. Charles

Lawson, I believe my scoops have a couple wraps of fine mesh screen as their filter material. I have found this material in the past at old hardware stores. Not your big box hardware stores should have today.

Get some fine (whatever size mesh you wish) wire cloth from Mcmaster Carr. Can be had in stainless if desired.

Thanks for all the tips fellows. Bob Hall of Sky Forrest, CA sent me a very nice air scoop that has what looks like a new screen in it. Free gratis for nothing as my Dad used to say. Can't beat a deal like that. Roy Nacewicz is sending me a new screen but it hasn't arrived yet. That'll be a spare I guess. (That's the way it is in this hobby.) Thanks again Bob. Lawson, I think that air scoop is a bad idea, I think the fan would push dirt into the crankcase. I got a regular breather from Sacramento vintage

Either type cap is going to suck in dust. Keep the screen oiled to catch dust. Clean screen every time you change oil. I don't drive on dusty dirt roads like they had back in the day. LOL

If you use the scoop style air breather use a paper filter and a screen to keep it looking original and the dirt problem wont be a problem, and I use an oil filter from a Toyota cut it apart and remove the paper element without tearing it and its about the right size and cheap too for about 3 bucks at auto zone
the one for the 4 cyl Camry a 2000 model
