Default Just out for a drive

I got back to North Carolina from Arizona last week. I had a lot of unpacking to do and some cleaning and repair on the RV and house, so the car sat for a while before I could start it. Plus, in the mail, was a love note from the DMV letting me know that I had missed an insurance payment and my insurance was cancelled. In North Carolina they want the tag (license plate) back if the insurance is cancelled. So it took a week to straighten that out.

The 1930 Fordor was up on blocks and had a battery maintainer on it. It was in this condition for 6 months. The gas tank was 3/4 full of ethanol gasoline. The carburetor was run dry when I left.

Today I was finally able to go for a drive on the country roads. It started right up. I drove up into the Brushy Mountains with wonderful views of Wilkesboro far below and the surrounding mountains.

It was really great to go for a drive. What a nice attitude adjustment. I need to do more of that and less of the things that put me in a bad mood.

Driving's a blast, a blast from the past.

I agree. A short cruz in one of my collector cars after a bad day at work does wonders.

Un-seasonable weather in WNC, for sure. Perfect for a spin.... I had a high of 72 here, though a drive (not in the A) on the Blue Ridge Parkway got my car thermometer down to 55 at one point.

Forecast is for 80 degrees here tomorrow. My wife and I will take the roadster out for a spin. Maybe my 51 convert, too.

A little bit of that good North Carolina "shine" after the drive always helps adjust the attitude also.

Pete, You are misinformed. There is no moonshine in Wilkes County NC.

And, the earth is flat.

Tag Topper for Wilkes County

The 3 X's mean that it was distilled 3 times and can be used as motor fuel.

It was 80 here Monday & the wife & I both had Presidents Day off so we took a all afternoon cruise in our Model A. We had to run the AC (windshield open).

Now back to the reality for the rest of us, current temperature is -1! Spring is just 24 days away.
