Over 'Town'
Once you have lived on these islands over 40 or 50 oyears we consider going to the mainland 'Over Town;... Well tomorrow I have to face the cardiologist on the mainland.... We are making a time of it,,,, A motel that likes dogs and driving the truck based woody. The weather is splendid and the road is good...... Don't git much better than that... I backed up to the house, Checked the water, oil and brake fluid.... all good..... OK a good report is encouraging as well.

Re: Over 'Town'
Good luck with the Heart Doctor GB.....he should be able to confirm if you have one...seriously though, these things aren't fun. I'm probably going to be up for a valve repair, got to have another test myself next week. Make the best of your trip "over town"

Re: Over 'Town'
The Amish refer to outsiders as "Englishmen" and caution to beware of them. In your case I guess its beware of the "Townie's" Safe travels and hoping for a good DR report.

Gary, hope all goes well with the doctor. I l love seeing you drive the old Ford around. We had a little rain south of you down here in Everett. I know the wipers on my 48 are slow, how are yours working? Best wishes.

Re: Over 'Town'
Hi GB, What year is the jail bar woodie? I had a 42 military heavy half ton when I was in high school. I learned a lot about the jail bar series . That truck had so many miles on it the frame rivets were all lose and squeaking. They are fun trucks to mess around with. I will give you a shout next time we're up your way on the boat. Tim

Re: Over 'Town'
Got home this afternoon. Doc says maybe 2 years out for the valve replacement. I can't begin to imagine how they do that up through your groin..... I think I once heard that described as akin to "rebuilding an engine up through the tailpipe" EEK! The trip was Fun! We sure don't get away like we did pre-covid. Let's just say a 'Grand time was had by all'.

Re: Over 'Town'
There is a worse location down south they could use other than the groin.Sounds like it was a great trip, that is as long as the wife and dog were happy. Thanks for the update and photos.

Re: Over 'Town'
Dog didn't comment. Wife has said at least 4 times how much fun it was. Weather in the mid 70s, really a nice drive. Drove to an old timey tavern after Dr. visit, 'The Conway Pub', a couple towns further South.
