Is the third brush on a three brush generator for a 36 Ford adjustable? 6 volt, positive ground with original style cutout.

Moving the 3rd brush down INCREASES the output. Adjust by referencing the ammeter.

Sorry GM but that is not correct. On an early Ford V8 moving the third brush down (clockwise as in engine rotation looking from front of car ) increases the generator amps output. Pushing the third brush upwards or anti clockwise against engine rotation decreases the generator output in amps. Regards, Kevin.
