Can a long shaft generator be replaced with a short shaft? If so what all needs changed?

all the 28-34 four cylinder generators will interchange as complete assembly
to use long taper shaft with short taper pulley you need a spacer, to use long taper pulley on short taper generator it takes a longer bolt It's all in the service bulletins, page 447-448 |

Unmodified model A generators will charge a twelve volt battery . The model A generator doesn't put out as high of amperage as the alternator . The lights won't be as bright but will otherwise work on a twelve volt system .

Everything is still 6 volt, Someone put a 6v alternator on it and I want to put it back more factory.
