Default !!!!Spindles!!

City: wash
State: iowa
Price: $10.00

I have 5 NOS front spindles, all are complete with early bearing cones, that should make them pre 1919, except 2 which are notched, which would make them post 1919, but they also have early cones and those 2 have a D in a circle on them??. All have bushings and are in good shelf condition, now the big one is they ARE ALL left hand. $10.00 each or trade all for a set of 26/27 spindles.

Left hand - sitting in the seat or standing in front looking at the front axle ?

Left hand thread would be on the passenger side... you never want the bearing to tighten with the wheel rotation. ws

Left hand spindles as on the drivers side, which I believe is the accepted way of looking at them, left side has always been the drivers side????

Its still the LH or RH thread that determines the correct side. ws

Thats true, and an accepted fact, but also where the taper for the steering arm hole is located, which in this case is towards the rear when you are looking at the spindle from the back.

YUP.... 'ol Hank sure liked tapers. almost as much as planetary gears. I think he thought outside the box but inside the triangle... Hmmm.
I think this parts list is exclusively pre 1926. These show the earlier style centered spindles; not the lowered ones. ws
