Default 32 v-8 starter installation with the new modern bendix

Any suggestions? Appears the new Bendix does not clear the bell housing. Read where someone suggested to grind it inside to allow it to clear.... sounds pretty involved. Any experience from those that have installed one? Thanks folks!

This is a common issue and yes grinding the clearance is the solution.

Or remove it and replace it with the USA made Ford style bendix ......which fits perfectly into the opening. This is what we do with them. We also sell the bendix drive assembly separately.
