JD, The brake light signal goes through the turn indicator switch. The wire from the brake light switch will have to be run to the indicator switch. Consult the instructions that came with the turn indicator kit or find the instructions online.

Ok so the original wiring to the brake and run light you leave out at rear and run through the turn signal. You don’t run extra wire back to the rear brake light’s

JD, I believe you are wrong. The two brakes lights need to be separated if you want to use the brake lights for your turn lights.
You can use the green wire going to the brake lights, for one side and add an additional wire for the other side brake light.

Herb has the right idea. The two brake lights become combination signal and brake lights and are run to the indicator switch. The brake light switch is then run to the indicator switch. The running lights still are run as original. Look at the wiring diagram that came with the kit or look up the wiring diagram online.

If everything is wired correctly both brake lights will come on when you press on the brake and one will blink if the brake and indicator switch are both on. If only the indicator switch is on then one brake light will blink and the opposite one will be off.

You need a 7-wire directional switch and a set of instructions, unless the wires are labeled.

One can only offer just so much help.

Once again, get a good turn switch such as a Signal-Stat 900 and follow the directions.

It kinda sounds as if he is trying to do this with a toggle switch. A wiring diagram is still needed.

If a double filament bulb and double contact base can be fitted to the lower running lights, they could be used as turn signals ,wire the higher candle power bulb to turn signal each side will have a separate wire for left and right. The running lights will have one wire connecting them to light switch.

I reckon I forgot in the beginning that they were wired up and worked. I run a separate wire to each brake light for the signal from the indicator. The run was left as it was and so was the brake green wire. My problem now sometimes both blink and sometimes the right run light blinks . I though bad ground as I had crazy thing with a trailer light and it was a bad ground so I temporarily run ground fro taillight bucket to frame. This worked a few times then went crazy again.
