Question for Bubba
Actually two. First, Are coils manufactured to be ran on either a negative system or a positive ground system? Or are they manufactured for just a specific ground?
Second, this Mallory has good bearings, but other than that I have no idea. A guy in one of our clubs is interested in buying it. What would be a fair price to ask? Thanks |

Re: Question for Bubba
Not Bubba But on can coils you just match the polarity on the coil terminals. I don't have any idea on the original distributer mounted coils.

Re: Question for Bubba
Yes the secondary side of the wiring may be on either side depending on positive or neg ground systems. ( has some effect on output)
May run either way, however once a coil has been ran in one polarity the center coil steel laminates have a set magnetic field in them. If reversed the coil looses approx 75-80 of its output.. That Mallorys worth is depending on how the insides look they are getting harder and harder to find.... |
