Default Does anyone know this brace part number 28-29 roadster

Can anyone tell me this rear trunk brace part number or were I can find one, it's 28-29 roadster
I only see the front brace listed everywhere, and the rear rumble hinge brace, but can't find this correct one

As usual any and all help would be appreciated greatly

Look at Snyder’s A-162-A. Other suppliers offer the same part.

I looked at a couple photos and the online catalog may show the later style with the large access hole when you click 28-9. Berts paper catalog shows an A-70107 with a correct photo of the early one. He doesn’t show the later one in a photo.

I believe if you talk to the vendors they will ship you the one you show in your photo. I did a photo search of A-162-A and in some cases they have interchanged the photos for the two parts.

My son recently bought A-162-A at the Brookville Roadster store and it is identical to the one in your photo.

Seems to be a issue, I was talking to them and the only thing close they haveor any other for that matter is the front brace, even though it looks similar the curve is not right it's wider and it's 22" long

Please look at the photo here:

https://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/s...earcht=A-162-b

I believe several suppliers have swapped photos for the correct part.

So that picture is correct, so here is another can of worms my quarters are 100% 28-29 so these braces listed as 30-31 would that make my quarters late 29?

You need A-162-A. The photos are interchanged. The brace shown as 30-31 is actually 28-29.

I contacted Snyder’s today and told them I believe the photos are mixed up. The brace we are discussing was purchased and used by my son to repair his 1929 Roadster. He was in Brookville, Ohio and I have no idea what he said to get the correct part. I looked at Brent Terry’s site today and his photos clearly show that “30-31” brace on a 29 roadster he restored. My 28 Sport Coupe that was built with a factory rumble seat also has similar braces. No one has modified them.

I suggest you talk to your supplier of choice and state you want the A-162- that does not have the big hole.

Thank you very much for your help, I'm hoping this might help others down the road, I'm still very new to this and thankful to have this site to ask questions and learn.

I confess to all that I made a mistake. After driving over and examining my car, My 28 Sport Coupe does have the brace with a large hole. It was factory installed. So, is one brace for a Coupe and the other for a Roadster? Or is the large hole brace for factory installed rumble seats? I’m guessing the rumble seat in my sons car was added in the sixties by the previous owner.

Regardless, the 28-29 and 30-31 designation appears to be incorrect.

That's ok, you are still correct about the brace being used on 28-29. Have a look at the brace in the trunk
Of this roadster on eBay. Type in this number in the search of eBay 183775702198 it looks all original? But still very confusing, thought alot more gurus would also chime in on this
