Unfortunately it doesn't have an original funnel radiator.

A local shop should be able to recore your old radiator. It's very simple. I was going to have a local shop do mine, but they could only get a 6 fin-per-inch core. Berg's is 10 fins per inch. Quoted me like $425 for a recore.

i have purchased three and a friend one and we are both Tirally satisfied with Brassworks in birth fit and performance. I have asked and not one legitimate problem has Ben identified. I am of the opinion they sell a first class product and I would not hesitate to buy from them again. Quality control is a non issue in my. Opinion. Wayne

I bought an original style 1928 core from Berg's, just in case I need it sometime down the road. I bought it from the father at Hershey, just before he retired and turned the operation over to his son. It matches the seamed round tubes and fin count.

The only Brassworks I bought was for a 1930 AA I worked on, and it was about 10 pounds lighter than the original radiator, and the support rods bracket was too short, so I had to weld extensions onto the two support rods.

Was that recently? I've heard they have made some inroads in their quality control.

my Brassworks radiator has tabs to hold the hood. I had to bend them a little wider to make the hood fit into them, but they work fine.

My advice would be that with your amount of expressed but not detailed apprehension, you should shop elsewhere. I am sure you will never be happy with Brassworks. When you have preconceived ideas about quality it is best to shop the alternatives, Wayne

I thought about doing that but I was scared to death in fear of damaging the tank. How did you bend them?

I have Brassworks on both my cars. Had a problem with the Cabriolet, tho. . .
It ran too cold! Had to add a thermostat. 160 to 170 all the time now.
The radiators are the 10 fin type.

There are tabs on this radiator. I am not aware of any reason they would not have had them in the last 40 years

I have Berg's on my roadster and Brassworks on my Cabriolet. Both are the 10 fin, heavy duty ones. Both cars run at 140 without a thermostat, so I have put thermostats in them, and both cool very well.

I just went and looked and there is no way the tabs will hold the hood on my radiator. I wish that I was closer to you to show you what I mean.

I went and looked too. I was wrong - it does have tabs but like you, there is NO WAY they will hold the bonnet sides.

The AA bracket is a little deeper than the cars. This was presented to us by a customer and we made a casting based the original. When painted it looks stock.

If anyone require the OEM bracket we can restore using their parts.
