SC Frank
I am going to have to look.
I purchased a book at Museum of the City of New York FOR those photos since I keep hearing here they did not wear WW's on period cars. Area was Forest Hills, Queens, 1930, and there are a mixed bag of cars with WW's all parked on the street.
I will look for it and send to you.
Send me an e.

Seriously? The AACA says that?

I thought it common knowledge that whitewalls on "luxury" cars gained popularity in the 1920's - 30's.

If anything, the supply of whitewalls was limited during WWII.

I dont like WW,s on "A",s but when I bought a S W sedan,my wife insisted on them,so thats what it got!At least I still have a 30 coupe with BW,s on black wheels.IMO WW,s look rather corny on an "A" even more so on the 28-29,s. If I had a Packard or Lincoln etc, then WW,s would be more appropriate.Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder,as they say!

I've had Goodyear Whitewalls on my coupe for about 10 years. They clean up easily with Westley's ww cleaner. Spray it on a dry tire and just hose it off with lots of water. Make sure your rims get washed as well. Has worked well for me
