Default 7 volts anyone?

while looking through a freinds old parts boxes I found a 7 volt generator with an 8ba mounting brkt.can anyone tell me what it would fit & why 7v & not 6 ? thanks

Probably because thats what the voltage is at the specified charge rate of appox. 36 amps. It's still a 6 volt generator. It's the same as a 12 volt alternator that charges at 13 or 14 volts but is still a 12 volt alternator.

A 6 volt generator should be set to charge at 7.5 volts. The generator you have marked 7 volts is a generator for a 6 volt system. The voltage regulator controls the actual output voltage. G.M.
