I like it, nice looking truck. I have always like them and wanted one but doubt I will ever get one now not even sure I will ever be able to even drive my 30 coupe again W/O some mods as I lost my Rt lower leg back in 2009 haven't tried to get in it since the leg deal so may even had a problem with that.

We bought our little Pick-up with out getting in it. I'm 6' 250lbs, wife and I fill it up once inside.

I step in with right foot, sit, then grab my left leg and raise it up to clear the seat. I have a 34" inseam so my legs are at a V wedge and it works. My FAT, yes fat belly rubs the steering wheel but I'm having so much fun , I don't notice. Getting out is a lot easier and faster.

I love my little pick-up and hope you do too. Sometimes, I just open the garage door and look at her, it makes me happy. Have fun..

p.s. I had trouble finding the "Pick-up" group on here.

Thanks for the insight and info, G&N Farms. I'll have to try that method out when I actually get the truck transported to my home this week.

I can't imagine ever going to a smaller steering wheel, as that is one of the charms of having a Model A. My youngest daughter used to delight in just holding that big steering wheel and putting on the pretend miles by the millions as she sat inside my old Model A. Brings back memories just looking at that wheel and it isn't any issue for me to have my big belly rub it.

My legs sometimes get a bit stiff if I am sitting for a while. Wet weather, as we have had here lately, sure brings it all on for a bit, as well. I am shooting for tomorrow to wrap up the deal on this pickup and have it delivered to my home in Ada, Ok. I'll have to get some insurance on it before tooling about town. I am currently comparing all the various insurance companies which deal with vintage autos as the norm. I honestly don't recall just which company I dealt with on my other Model A's.

I did have some difficulty in finding the group area of this board that has some more specifics as to pickup trucks.

I am not sure what is happening with this site for me, but I still can't get the thumbnails to open up which are posted here. All I get is a whirling circle and it does not download the photo even after any number of minutes. Not sure how to correct that, either. :-( Oh, well, I can still copy the thumbnail photo and enlarge it on my computer, but that is a real pain to do each time.

I am also going to be looking at installing seat belts in the pickup. Anyone have any suggestions as to the best method for anchoring them securely inside the pickup? I am going to discuss this with the owner when he brings the truck over.

Again, thanks guys for the info and suggestions.

Yeah, go to community, scroll down to social groups and then go over to the right of the screen. Scroll through or hit view all groups and you can find one listed for pickups on about page 2 of those groups listed. Not a lot of activity presently, I believe, but it is there.

I also have a problem making the thumbnails enlarge. I thought it was just my computer problem, but maybe not. Anyway what I learned to do is let the circle thing spin for about 10 seconds, then X it out, then reclick on the thumbnail, and it enlarges. Sometimes it might take two tries.

At work, I have to do that routine if I am using IE. If I am using Chrome, they load on first click.

Go figure!

I tried that on a photo above and the trick seemed to work. Not sure why it does like this, as it didn't on the first time or two I had used the site. Thanks for the tip.

Great looking truck! Wish that mine was to that stage.

I'm 6'1", 220, and I have a big problem getting that left, size 12 between the door post and the seat. Either takes some twisting or lifting that foot up and over the seat.

I installed a thinner seat back that gives enough room once I'm in. It's getting in that takes the gymnastics.

Well, got it delivered to my home today and actually took a spin about the neighborhood for just a short ride. I know someone will be laughing their buns off when they see me get in and out until I master that process, for sure. May make the eleven o'clock news with a video of me falling on my big rear as I get tangled up exiting. :-)

I need to get a dash-mounted column support and also a relay (what ever you call it) to work the horn as it is a 6v and the system is a 12v. I need to look at the dove tail to see if it can be adjusted on passenger side to tighten up the closure of that door. It closes, but rattles and seems too loose. Haven't made any adjustments to it just yet. Owner says never any problems with the license plate covered by bumper, as is. He says he has had it that way for a couple of years and no issues with police, so far. My luck my not be so good, so I'll have to look and see what can be done to work it properly for viewing the plate.

In the photo of the lower seat, does it look like too much overhang? Is it supposed to be latched in or something? I have not played around with making sure it is in properly or finding out if the seat is incorrect or not. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

More photos. Can't wait to start driving it about. Need to remember some double clutching techniques once again, but practice, practice, practice....

Got some things to order and will be piddling along in finding stuff that needs some attention, I bet. None the less, just glad to get the deal completed and get it home today. Have to make some room in the garage to bring it inside.

Getting in and out will be my biggest learning curve at present though. Like say, someone will likely post a video of me falling on my fat rear as I exit. Can't blame them as it is indeed funny. :-)

IN the seat pan there are a couple of angled pieces which look like something would be inserted into them to brace the seat. They are each a triangle shape. I don't see anything on the seat springs bottom that inserts into these channels. Am I missing a piece or simply not understanding what those areas are for? I'll try to shoot a photo later and post.

Mine has two long "u" shaped wire pieces on the seat that slide into those slots to keep the seat from sliding forward.

You don't happen to have a photo of such to post, do you? When I pulled out the seat bottom yesterday I was in a hurry and didn't look close, but I don't recall any U-shaped wires on the front end of the seat bottom. I meant to take photos of the slots today, but got busy and now it is too dark. I'm wondering if something like those pieces can be fabricated, but I have no idea as to what they look like.

Thanks for the info.

These pictures are from a 29 ccpu..

I do not know if a '30 is similar...

First is the riser with the slots to capture the loops from the seat bottom

The loops on the seat bottom are visible in the second picture if you look close....

1955 posted a picture that shows the "loops". They look like wire about the same size as the springs in the seat. I don't have my 1930 CCPU, it's at the shop but I get it back next week. If you still need something better I'll post a picture for you towards the end of the week.
