It's your car and your money.
It's nobody else's business if they don't like whitewalls on your car. Too bad ! MIKE (mikeburch) |

Re: White Wall Tires????
Whitewalls is a personal thing. Personally I WOULDN'T like them on MY Model A because personally I don't like the look. But personally I DO like them on my '55 Ranchwagon.

Re: White Wall Tires????
Appears our Supreme Court has already made a decision a few years ago which may or may not relate to Model A tires; for example, we should not choose tires based solely on the color of their skin.
FWIW, usually good serviceable tires are the ones that can hold air ...... as opposed to some tires constantly releasing air ...... & from maybe an economic standpoint ..... good tires are the ones not constantly dependent on inflation ...... which should make Model A owners happy. With about half a dozen other simple, silly comparisons & considerations in mind, we may find it easier to appreciate all of our varying opinions on Model A tires. |

Re: White Wall Tires????
A friend of mine saw the white walls on my 30 roadster and liked them so much he went out and put 4 new whitewalls on his roadster. Thing is I don't really like the whitewalls on my car, go figure.

Re: White Wall Tires????
Yep! Ha ha. That's what I meant- They're too flashy on a Model A. No need to read any further than that. And, may I remind... It is just my opinion.

Re: White Wall Tires????
I'd love my '28 A special coupe to be all original. But it isn't. Maybe someday. Until then I'll go with what appeals to me rather that what was original. The whitewalls on my coupe (in my opinion) make it look dressy. They go with the chrome radiator shell, light bar and headlights. It also has black wheels, so the whitewalls dress up the wheels a bit. If it had wheels of some accent color, say creme, or red, I wouldn't want white wall tires then either.
My pickup is a different story with a two-tone paint job and a little pin striping, it's dressy enough. No need for chrome, or white walls on what I see as my work truck. When Dad's 28 PU is restored, it'll be blackwalls, and black wheels for the same reason. BTW, a thread like this is refreshing to me every once in a while. Gives guys a chance to post pics of their cars. I never get tire of admiring your Model A's, gentlemen.

Re: White Wall Tires????
I could go either way but what I REALLY don't like on an"A" is light colored 16" wheels with WIDE Whites (especially when they've "yellowed).

Re: White Wall Tires????
Well I see this topic had to rear it's ugly head once again, I just hope it doesn't turn into a green fender thing.

Re: White Wall Tires????
My avatar shows whites, orange wheels, black fenders, crème body, dark green top. Wife doesn't like the wheels. Everybody else loves it.
To each his own. Now, what kind of oil do you recommend?? Paul in CT |

Re: White Wall Tires????
Not chance of that. No one would own a Model A with green fenders.
