Beautiful restoration. It's a truck that looks like a truck...not all dolled up with white walls, etc.

Thanks for sharing.

Zimmco, Very nice restoration!

To answer Keith, OH. statement...35 pickups had aluminum intake manifolds and heads.

I don't think so.

Not to steal Al's thunder, but here are a few pictures of a beautifully done '35 Panel Delivery that received its Dearborn Award at the 2014 CNM in Springfield, Illinois. I don't think Don Rogers would have used the wrong intake manifold on this one.

Don, you beat me to it

There continues to be some confusion regarding heads and intakes on 1935 vs 1936 pickups and panel deliveries. 1935 pickups and panel deliveries had aluminum heads and intakes while 1936 used cast iron. All large trucks used cast iron for both years.

I was given a '36 engine that was removed from an original '36 pickup and was assured it was the engine that came in this truck when new. It has cast iron intake manifold and heads, and is also an LB.
Purchased a '35 coupe last December from the son of the original owner, and he claims his Dad installed a '36 truck engine in this car many years ago. It also has cast iron intake and heads. Heads have pn's that indicate domed pistons. I'm hoping this is also an LB engine.
These engines support what you are saying about cast iron for intake and heads for '36 pickups/trucks.

Don, I didn't make a STATEMENT, I asked a QUESTION concerning the intake manifolds delivered on 35 trucks since I have heard answers from so called experts both ways. Thank you for clearing it up with your reliable expert knowledge.

Keith, You are correct. You did ask a question and not make a statement. Sorry for the screwup. I need to enlarge the font on my smart phone.

Regards
