Shoebox hood hinges
This has probably come up before but a "search" didn't bring it up.
The '49-'51 hoods do not have counter-balanced spring hinges like Ford's same period trucks have. As it stands now, the hood is somewhat heavy, if not cumbersome to lift and once up you need to use a rod to keep it up. Has anyone put counter-balanced springs on a shoebox hood that did not require major sheet metal surgery or welding? Thanks Tom |
