1935 Ford cigar lighter element
I just woodgrained my dash (1935 5 Window Coupe) and I am reassembling all the hardware for it. The Dennis Carpenter knob set has a cigar lighter knob that has threads on it with a note saying that it fits a "Casco #266 element assembly"........My car is converted to 12 volts and I do not want to use the element as a cigar lighter, however I do want to use it as a 12 volt port for a phone or 12 volt electric blanket for my wife as I have no heater in the car. Does anyone know where I can get a Casco #266 element (working or not) or a method to make the knob fit an element so I can close the hole off when not in use? Thank-you,....Matt in Alameda

Re: 1935 Ford cigar lighter element
I use a regular 12 volt element and socket that you can get at Walmart. I remove the knob from the element and then remove the threaded portion of the repo knob. I then JB weld the repo knob onto the stud from the new element. The base of the repo knob is big enough that it does not allow anyone to push the element into the socket.
