As you all know, i did some smaller adjustments
till yesterday evening....

Enough time to do lots of test-driving
and pack stuff to head north today.

Great weather and the URGENT need for some hollidays
forced us to leave.

As i had no further parts (U-joint) to built in, we have to handle
an ammount OF STRANGE NOISES.
If it wont go anymore, we will have have to ask ADAC (AAA) to
pick us up and bring us back home.

Will tell you , how far our wounded A will bring us.

We started late morning and managed to drive to Hofgeismar.
(200km).

What a nice day, what a perfect spring.
Left Hofgeismar this morning

not allways visible, but we followed the river of Weser
in the wonderfull surrounding of Weser-Bergland.

There is some Skywalk available
(not Grand Canion, but still impressive)

we loved to be there.

Engine runs great
still ugly noises from "behind the gearbox"

We passt Bodenwerder, nice city of "Baron von Münchhausen"
(lived 17XX and told te world he was riding acannonball
through the air...)

Seems we flew to low too.
Polizei cought us with Radar while speeding.

We arrived in Gifhorn on early afternoon

After a nice evening with Motorcycle-friends
in Gifhorn, we had a short night.

Getting older, means to know that in advance
which made me plan a short leg on ourDay 3 .

Heading north again, we passed thebig flat area,
which was caused by last ice-age.

High average speed and no more
overeager-all-german-money-hunting-Polizei.

From time to time you might see german "Atomausstieg"
which caused energie-prices to rise 30 % (just last year)

Up to now we did 602km and are back to a bigger city.
lots of traffic and lots of odd trafic lights..

we reached "Das weisse Hotel"
which is next to river of Elbe in the West of Hamburg .
All big Ships pass our window on their way into the world.

Sadly the weather turned worse and rain a little over freezingpoint

I am just greatly impressed with the conditions of the roads, they all look like new. Keep posting it is very interesting.

Most of Europe is blessed with not having empty beer cans & empty fried chicken & hamburger paper bags thrown all along the sides of the countryside roads like we have in the U.S.

Also not many people driving around on their tiny spare tires with dented fenders, one headlight, & having transluscent polyethelene film, (visqueen), taped with duct tape to the the rear & side auto window frames.

Thanks for sharing the very beautiful scenery, well kept real estate, & well kept vehicles everywhere!

great support to lead all cars to Sylt

as well as a new average-record ( 30 minutes

We have a nice apartment in the Dorfhotel in Rantum
Breakfast is perfect for us-americans

A cab brings us to our garage...
Hangar of Flugwerft Sylt is sufficient and safe for our cars.

Once the Sylt-Round-Trip started,
we try to follow this 1926 Buick 4 door-Sedan
(came from Swizzerland) and marvel the wonderfull
buildings arround.

As this day is the "Rallye-part" of our tour...

we try to understand what this 1921 Wanderer Püppchen
(15HP) is doing there

From the very south of the Sylt, we spot the island
of Amrum in the distance.
We had holidays there some years ago, but didnt like to much,

On our way to the north, we meet lots of old
cars, which are on same tour (but far behind us).

We urgently recommend to travel Sylt.
Its really nice!

The Watten-Meer (tidelands) is UNESCO-Welt-Kultur-Erbe

And i love to eat the Nordsee-Krabben (shrimp)
together with scambled eggs

I didn't know Germany had a dune.
We have the White Sands National Monument in New Mexico, which is very large, and looks similar to the dune you pictured.

Tried to spot USA in the far but couldnt

Allways get comments about engine which is CALM in
every situation. I love to tell people that its electrical-driven
(and electronical limited to 250km/h)

Nice weather on the train-transfer back to mainland.
No other old cars arround, as most of them seem to
stay longer and trailer back home.

Beefed up we solve steepest northern-germany-ramps

Elbe-Ferry from Glückstadt to Wischhafen saves us from
Hamburg-traffic and shortens todays distance about 100km.

Ja, we are back on the backroads we do love so much and
heading south

Train and ferry and 265km - wow - what a day

By accident, we found Meyers-Hotel in Harsefeld,
with a nice room, a closed garage for our car
and a good meal - perfect.

Day 7
We really appreceated Meyers and need to add this
to our list of "usable" hotels

btw we never saw any temp at the gauge for all of the journey.

Doing adjustments on a short coffee-break, means that my
wife will find out about dirt on the inside of the hood.
Shame on me

This is, where Elvis lived when he was over here in Germany.
He is very allive there and you even find his pics and signatures
iin barber-shops

Here he created his version of the german song

(which was least successful song of his whole carreer)

We did 463km on this last day of our Nordland-Tour.

Alltogether we did 1875 km in 7 days (about 1200Miles).

Our Tudor is real mighty and never left a doubt, that
he wants to go back to Frankfurt on his own wheels
(Im sorry that i had times of disbelief)

We love that car
