Default F1 speedometer overhaul

I’m about to clean and fit new instrument decals and need to remove the speedometer pointer to enable the new transfer to be applied , I’ve given it a gentle tug but don’t want to break anything .Has anyone done this ? and if so do you I have any advice .

I've done a few, but never that particular model. all I have done just pull off. you first pull the needle over the stop post, and make a note of where it rests, and put it back on in that location.

I made my own transfers (Look just like original) and applied them to the gauges and speedo in my F1. Used comparable screwdrivers on each side of the pointer 180 degrees apart and carefully pried it straight up. Worked great. Cas3 gives some good advice on how to position it.
