Default sloppy tranny end shaft: update

This is a continued drama.

After rebuilding the tranny a couple of time, lots of study and help, here we are:

(the box is a '38. gears are not a '39. Jim Cross looked at the situation as determined that by the uni mounting tight to the end shaft, the slop goes away. The uni forward rim contacts the end bearing inside race. No more slop.

We did determine that the uni bolt and clam shell bolts were loose. The tranny squealed in third gear as the uni rubbed the inside of the ball .

Now here is a Q: the uni bolt's head is worn on the top surface. Something was rubbing on it. I have not idea what.

Anyway now it is a fine serviceable tyranny. Thanks for all the help ready for Hershey and I replace it with a 39. Them women's are happier with no more squalling as we roll on.
