Default Transmision Tower tool

I was at a consignment shop today and saw what looked to be a tool that would compress the spring on a model a transmission shift tower. It had an upper and lower set of fingers that would separate with a turn knob on top and was about 1.5 in. in diameter. If such a tool was made I would like to see a picture of it.

I did not get a picture of it, but it is not a valve tool. The fingers that capture the spring are in line with the knob that compresses the spring. The knob is about 4 inches in diameter and maybe too small for the amount of tension on the tower spring. It also looks like it has about an inch and a half and that may not be enough travel. It is stamped K-R.
