Default 16 inch wheels

Has anyone had brake Rod issues using 16 inch wheels with radials. All the radials I looked at are 8 inches wide or better. Coker and others list a radial but are not avaible at this time.

I just purchased a set of Coker 600-16 radials and have not mounted them yet, but they look like they will fit just fine.

The 6.00-16 is 2 inches shorter. the 6.50 is almost the same height as the stock 19 inch wheel. Coker told me they won't be in the country until March. It seems that these tires are sized like the bias and not like the P metrics.

I looked at mine tonight for that same reason, I didn't notice any rubbing on the rods, and the wheel is about half inch away. I was told there is an adjustment if it hits the rods.

Will a simple bump in the road cause this to happen or a pothole? Wayne

I had Crosswind 215/85R16 installed. I bought these only because one day I had to hit the brakes hard, and the car skid like a10 speed bike. I have more control of the road now with these tires. I did an emergency stop on the dime this time with no skidding. The tires look good to me but, the bumps are the same as the 21s. If you can get a smaller tire that you like, maybe it will perform better. I just didn't want that donut look after I changed the 21s.

I gave up looking for a radial that would clear my brake Rod. I installed a 6.50-16 bias with a cross section of 7 inches. I clear the brake Rod with 3/8 of a inch. I'm happy that it has the same height as my 19 inch tires.
