Default Model A Museum Ground Breaking

We finally broke ground on the Model A Museum, located at The Gilmore Car Museum complex in Hickory Corners, MI. The 1930 elementary school bus is in front of the latest addition to the museum and is now the entrance.

The construction team left to right, Cornerstone Construction owner, the architect, Alex Janke MAFCA, Stan Johnson MAFFI, Hugh Smith MARC, Michael Spizia The Gilmore are pictured with the shovel.

If you visit MAFFI.org there is a web cam so you can follow the progress of construction. Concrete should be poured shortly and the steel will arrive the first part of May. The exterior will be similar to the building pictured with the bus but be a copy of a 1929 Ford dealership.

What becomes of those nice looking, nickel plated "ground-breaking" shovels? Will they stay as momentos at the museum or taken to their respective club offices for display?

Will there be a "time capsule" of sorts placed in or around the "corner stone"? If so...make sure that is very well protected from moisture entering the capsule.

Can't wait to vist this tribute to our beloved Model A/AA Ford!

"A" BIG THANK YOU to all who have contributed in any way, shape or form!

Must depend where you go through TSA. I always wind up with "Big Bertha".
