Default Missing 36 Front Brake Part?

I was cleaning up the parts to put my front brakes back together today and it looks like I may be missing a part. In the first picture there is a little cap on the brake part. (Have no idea what it is called) In the second picture you can see that there are two of the parts but I only have the one cap. Did the brakes only have the one cap? If two are needed where might I buy one? And worse case scenario, will the car stop properly with only one?

And while I am at it, is there a book on early Ford brakes and running gear?

Thanks!

Looks like a pill, used to take up wear and slack in the brake operating pin.

The K brake wedge is to be used with the brake pedal identified 17 look for the pedal to be embossed just behind the brake pad. This was a running change in 36.
