Default Sealing A Pitted Fuel Pump...

Hi All,

I am rebuilding a bunch of 32 fuel pumps for my B woodie.
The pumps are quite pitted inside and I was wondering if I can seal them.
I had searched the threads and came up with nothing. I looked on the internet for sealers and came up with Seal All and JB Weld.
Does anyone have any suggestions or tips?

Thanks

Keep V-8ing and 4-banging!

Hooked up on it now.
I tried to hook another
To see if I'd do a little good,
But ain't no place to put it
'Less I perforate the hood.

Wanted, lower side sections of 32 radiator cowl.

No need to use a sealer. Chances are you could plug up some of the holes/tubes. Just de-scale it good. You could even bead blast but be sure to wash/blow out all of the beads before rebuilding and assembly.

I once bought a B pump that turned out to be absolutely full of encrusted sand in the upper chamber. I went to work scraping away at the cement-like mess with a paper towel in my lap to catch the debris, removing more and more crud with an old screwdriver, when suddenly things started looking strange down there...it took me a minute to realize that I was now looking at the paper towel, as almost the entire floor had been eaten away by whatever formed the muck.
Since the chamber was full to the top, the thing must have been pumping for a long time as it transported all the crud from the gas tank...I had to wonder if it had been pumping for part of that time with a chamber floor made only of cemented crud??
You think YOUR pump has problems...!

Don't do the JB weld, as I have time tested it and it is not fuel proof in long exposure.
